Weyerhaeuser Toledo Tree Farm Fish Passage Design

weyco-toldeo-pipeDuring the spring and summer of 2018, LEI Engineering & Surveying of Oregon completed the survey and design of 25 stream crossings for the Weyerhaeuser Toledo Tree Farm outside of Siletz, Oregon.  Many of these crossings needed to be designed to meet current Oregon fish passage requirements and regulations.   This included sizing crossings for conveyance of the 50-year design storm and providing fish passage using Stream Bed Simulation.   Many of the design structures were corrugated metal pipe arches to providing crossing width to span the average active channel.  A rock vein was designed at the outlet of the pipe to capture stream bedload to provide natural seeding of the structure barrel to simulate the natural stream bed.

During the Summer of 2018 and 2019, these crossings were constructed, with excellent results.
