Site Design for Green House Development - Oregon City, Oregon

organic-leasing-site-designLEI Engineering and Surveying of Oregon completed the land surveying, geological investigation, and civil engineering for the site development of 250,000 square feet of greenhouses in Oregon City, Oregon.

Poor and expansive soils were a major concern at this location. LEI Engineering and Surveying of Oregon’s Engineering Geologist, Stephen Palmer performed geologic investigation to classify soils and determine prescriptive measures for design and construction. This also included performing soil infiltration testing using a cased falling head test.

LEI Engineering and Surveying of Oregon developed site design civil engineering plans for road access and site development.  Drainage around the green houses was a serious concern due to the expansive soils at the site.  Following engineering geologist recommendations, LEI Engineering and Surveying of Oregon designed a sub-drain around the buildings to drain water from the foundation soils

Stormwater runoff treatment for this site was addressed with a large wet and vegetated detention pond. LEI Engineering and Surveying of Oregon worked with the project landscape architect to develop a planting plan and design that included an island in the middle of the pond.
